Okay, I'll admit it. I can be a bit lame when it comes to knowledge of sports in Boston. I don't know the names of players, unless they've been arrested for DWI, been in a fight, given to charity, etc. and as a result have had their names mentioned somewhere else other than on the sports pages of the Boston Globe. Oddly I know more about, and have more interest in, the arenas the teams play in than the teams themselves.
Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox (baseball), use to be my neighbor. Whether I went to a game (rarely) or not I was part of the action. The crowds on the street, the traffic, the wonderful chaos of the fans off to cheer their Soxs, the noise of the fans screaming, all impacted on my life here in Boston.
The FleetCenter (now named TD Banknorth Garden), home to the Boston Bruins (hockey) and the Boston Celtics (basketball) was a subway token away or a pleasurable 45 minute city walk from my apartment. The FleetCenter/TD Banknorth Garden is new. It replaced the Boston Garden, now torn down, to the sadness of many old time fans of the Garden. I never experienced the old Garden but the new Garden is very nice. To my untrained sports eyes the views are good, the acoustics are great and there is real food and beer to be found there to eat and drink (although not cheap).
So when my wife and I decided to enrich our cultural experience of living in Boston by attending sport events, I took my camera along to capture the moment. More importantly I took the camera along to answer the question of - Were the seats good?
When we purchased the tickets for the events shown here we exclaimed to the ticket seller:
Were they goods seats - dear sports fans you be the judge.
