Step 3: Forming the Mould
Note: the following steps must be done in the shade and in a place protected from the wind.
Place the concrete base on top of paper or a grain sack, on a level and hard floor.
Place the sack on the base with the smaller opening on the bottom.
Start to fill the sack with sand. The weight of the sand will "stick" the sack to the base. The sack should come to the edge of the base and should not be folded under itself. You can use a long stick to help push the sand to the edges if necessary.
The sack should come to the edge of the base.
When the sack is full, smooth the sack into a rounded shape by pulling the top ends of the sack together.
Use the paddle or wooden board to beat the filled sack into the curved shape you wish.
