Apppendix 4:
Attaching a Water Tap/Faucet
On the fifth day of curing the container, prepare a 1/2 inch water pipe with a length of 150 mm by threading the pipe on one end. Place a joint and a tap/faucet on the threaded end.
Measure a height of 150 mm on the container. With the pipe and pencil, draw a circle with the same diameter as the pipe.
Drill (using a drill for concrete) a hole with the same diameter as the pipe. If you have only a small drill, make several smaller holes and after file or rasp the hole until it is the correct size.
Place the water pipe into the hole, leaving the same length of pipe inside the container as outside.
Inside the container, cement the pipe into the container.
On the 7th day of curing, fill the container 1/4 full with water and continue with the normal programme for curing.
