Ingredients
1 1/2 cups long-grain brown rice
3 1/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation
1. Rinse the rice in a strainer. In a heavy-based saucepan, combine the rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Skim off any scum on the surface.
2. Lower the heat, cover the pan, and simmer the rice over very low heat, without stirring, for 45 to 50 minutes or until it is tender but still has some bite.
3. Remove the pot from the heat and let it stand for 15 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
